Ssense - Concept Study

Studying the system behind the image.

This independent concept explores how Taliya can analyze an established e-commerce language and translate its defining visual rules into a controlled, repeatable production workflow.

Using garments selected for a similar fashion aesthetic — not SSENSE products — we studied the way the retailer presents models, products and multiple views across its e-commerce environment.

(What We Studied)

{Background & Lighting}

The clean white studio environment, restrained lighting and minimal visual distraction that keep attention on the garment.

{Framing & Proportions}

The relationship between model scale, negative space, camera position and consistent crop across product imagery.

{Model Presentation}

Neutral expression, understated styling and controlled body language designed to keep the product central.

{Signature Poses}

Recurring poses were broken down into repeatable body positions — including the characteristic three-quarter stance, specific leg placement, weight distribution, torso rotation and arm positioning.

{Multiple Angles}

The same product language can be extended across front, three-quarter, side, back and closer product views while maintaining a consistent model and visual system.

(What We Produced)

{One visual language. Multiple repeatable views.}

Taliya recreated the production logic across different garments and angles, demonstrating how an established e-commerce direction can become a repeatable framework rather than a one-off image.

The goal is not to copy a single photograph. It is to understand the rules that make the imagery recognizable — and build a system capable of applying those rules consistently at scale.
